About 4:00 deer started moving out of the woods all along the valley and into the fields. I'll bet we saw over 40 - 50 deer and some of them had some nice racks. (6, 8, 10 points) We never had anything big close enough to get a good picture, but with field glasses they were pretty impressive. Rut is still going here, and the bucks are chasing the does. Also we saw people get out of their cars and walk into the fields to take pictures. They were getting pretty close and the deer didn't spook. You can tell there is no hunting up in the park. It was a hazy day so the pictures are a little fuzzy (sorry), but we still wanted to share.
Some does feeding in the field.
Just a nice shot with the mountains in the background.
Early settlers home in the valley.
This mill was used by the people of Cades Cove. Still has the water running down the wooded trough.
